Seems like a good name for a minor league baseball team, they should be embracing local weirdness. Everyone likes Freedom, but it’s pretty generic.

Here it is, the water tower they named the team after.

Ah, Kentucky. I was a finalist for the trumpet job at Morehead State about 20 years ago . Every year, the town of Morehead does a “Best Of Morehead” list. The year I was there, the town voted the best seafood restaurant as Long John Silver’s.

I live in Florence, y’all. Fun fact the water tower originally said Florence Mall. They then realized that it was illegal to advertise for the mall on a public water tower. Rather than repaint the whole thing, they took the cheap route

What kind of communist are running Florence, Kentucky, when you can’t plug the local mall on a water tower?

Florence, Arizona, is home to eight prisons, and has  almost as many prisoners as residents. They hate freedom there.

I remember going to a River City Rascals game against Florence. RCR won 17 to 7. They then went on to win the championship last year and the owners decided to dissolve the team before  end of the year. Weird, but I guess they weren’t making money at it. At one point they were behind on rent for the stadium by $100,000+.
